xp sp3

Service Pack 3 for windows XP got over 1000 new security updates and the pack will be on 370 MB. The company NeoSmart Technologies and other sources, SP3 will get many new functions we already see in Vista.

Here are some of the Vista technologies that will be included on SP3:

  • New model for product activation, with this new version you do not have to write a product key when installing XP
  • Improvement for the network facilities.
  • New “Kernel Mode Cryptographic Module” This will make some changes to the XP source
  • XP can now protect itself better VS the so called Black Hole routers

A new test version of Windows XP SP3 got released on 20th November 2007. It looks like this is the final version of XP SP3 and it got released to 15 000 testers. The final version of XP SP3 was actually ready to be released for 2 weeks ago but first now has it been released to subscribers of Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) and TechNet. It is still not clear when this version will be available for everyone. If everything go as planed Microsoft will release the official version of XP SP3 in the beginning of 2008.
