iPhone in Europe - Limited to specific countries

Finally some unclear but confirmed news about iPhone in Europe.

Apple has finally confirmed that iPhone will come to Europe by end of this year (2007) but not all the European countries will be covered by its distribution. They have also mentioned that iPhone will be available in the other European countries as well as Asia, later in 2008.

Since still no specific country has been mentioned as the ones who are getting iPhone in the first phase in Europa, commentators believe they should be UK, France and Germany.

From the other side, Monday July 23, Karstadt announced that they will sell iPhone and they are hoping to have the phones in stock in time for the Christmas shopping season but they also mentioned that still it’s too early to say if they will be sold with or without a contract.

By now, no official confirmation or comment has been given on the service provider(s) distributing iPhone in Europe.
