AT&T Inc. working with Hollywood studios and Recording companies, is looking for ways to detect and control, sharing and distribution of illegally copied movies and musics on their network.
This effort has already raised the voice of privacy advocates as in general, this technology may require detailed monitoring of user’s online activity such as the websites they visit and the files they share that seems totally against users’ privacy!
Since this news is published, there have been seen substantial amount of negative comments left by users on sites and blogs this news was published. Some people believe that AT&T will lose customers if they implement such technology.
But it’s obvious that this reaction wasn’t unexpected for this huge company and nobody exactly knows what is beyond the decisions.
